Nusprendžiau, kad mano NAS QNAP TS- 253A vertėtų papildyti RAM atminties kiekį. Esant įprastiems NAS darbams, RAM trūkumas nebuvo jaučiamas. Su RAM trūkumu buvau susidūręs tik naudojant virtualizaciją.

Turimam NAS reikalingi SO-DIMM DDR3L (PC3L) (mažos įtampos angl. Low Voltage). Įprasti DDR3 yra 1,5V įtampos, o DDR3L yra 1,35V. Tokie RAM turėtų būti efektyvesni ir vartoti mažiau galios.
Buvo įdėti du SO-DIMM DDR3L 4 GB (viso 8 GB).
Senesnis tėvų NAS QNAP TS-251 turėjo tik 1 GB RAM, tai ten buvo taip pat atliktas RAM papildymas 2x SO-DIMM DDR3L 2 GB (viso 4 GB).

NAS RAM papildymo procedūra pakankamai paprastai, pakanka juos įdėti ir viskas. Atliekant paprastas užduotis RAM atminties padidinimas pastebimos įtakos nepadarė.
